2024 - Zom 100: Netflix's new zombie comedy gets a trailer

What if a zombie invasion frees you from your horrible job? This is the starting point of comedy Zom 100: The List of Death expected on August 3 on the Netflix streaming platform, and which has just unveiled its first trailer.

The live adaptation of a cult manga

Adapted from the manga Bucket List of the Dead by Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata, Zoom 100 tells the story of Akira, a young man martyred for too long by a boss, who wakes up one day in his town invaded by zombies. Expressing his natural positivity, the young man composes a list of 100 things he wants to do before becoming a zombie himself.

Published in January 2018, the original manga has already been adapted into an animated series, broadcast since July 9 on Crunchyroll. This version in real shots (“live”) therefore arrives at about the same time on our screens, to the delight of fans.

Directed by Yusuke Ishida, the film is written by Haro Aso, with Eiji Akaso, Mai Shiraishi, Shuntao Yanagi and Kazuki Kitamura in the cast.

Zoom 100 is another example of Netflix’s appetite for manga and anime adaptations. The streaming service has already produced live (and dodgy) versions of cowboy bebop, Full Metal Alchemistor Death Noteand similar adaptations of One Piece And Avatar the Last Airbender are coming soon.

A far from stupid bet for Netflix, which is banking on the growing popularity of its productions with its young users, and intends to succeed in producing long-term franchises with an audience already acquired by the programs.
