Zombie comeback: Action hit returns to the Steam charts – thanks to a discount

Techland made many zombie fans very happy with Dying Light 2 earlier this year. Now the game is heavily reduced on Steam and is therefore climbing the charts again.

Dying Light 2 is back on Steam

The development of Dying Light 2 was probably anything but smooth. The zombie open world hit had to be postponed again and again – but in February 2022 the fans were finally let loose on the game. The final product eventually caused mixed feelings: The meta score of the PC version is currently a solid 77 points (GIGA rating: 7.3 / 10 points), while the user score only shows 4.2 points. This seems to be mainly due to technical problems and a hated copy protection, the combination of which initially had a massive impact on the game’s performance.

In the meantime, these points of criticism seem to have been slowly overcome – and thanks to a discount campaign, Dying Light 2 is storming the Steam charts again. The zombie hit is still reduced from 59.99 euros to 39.99 euros until July 7th, 2022. So you save a total of 33 percent (view on Steam). That should also be worthwhile for developer Techland, because at the moment Dying Light 2 thus secures twelfth place in the bestsellers (Source: Steam).

Zombie hype on Steam: DayZ is also reduced

If you find Dying Light 2 too action-heavy and are looking for a serious survival game with a zombie setting, you’re in luck: The hardcore open world hit DayZ is also heavily discounted. Instead of 39.99 euros, you only have to put 23.99 euros on the digital counter to access the 230 km² map to fight for your survival.

DayZ – Gameplay Trailer | PS4

While zombies are a constant threat in DayZ, it’s not just the undead that you have to worry about. Supplies are a rare commodity in the Chernarus play area, so that hunger and thirst are your constant companions. And if you do encounter other players while playing, in most cases it’s better to assume the worst – especially if they’re armed. Very few survivors are willing to risk their supplies and act according to the motto: Shoot first, ask later.

But if you appreciate exactly this level of tension, you will probably have a lot of fun with DayZ. The zombie game is reduced by 40 percent until July 7th.
