Zombies Players Exasperated by Vanguard

Vanguard’s Zombies was clearly not well received by the community at launch. So Treyarch included a ton of new content with the Season 2 update. However, players are still not impressed with the map design.

Call of Duty: Vanguard changed the classic Zombies formula by ditching the rounds format for portals with objectives. Players weren’t too impressed with Der Anfang, which played on Vanguard multiplayer maps, and were hoping for a better experience with the Season 2 update.

While Treyarch eventually added the Ray Gun and the new Decimator Shield, many Zombies fans quickly grew tired of the Terra Maledicta map, “boring” and “without challenge”.

Rather than surviving successive waves of the undead while completing objectives, Terra Maledicta has players entering portals with an objective on the other side.

The Zombies still can’t convince the players.

Terra Maledicta, not to the tastes of Vanguard players

A player, u/XLoad3Dcomplained on the Zombies subreddit that teleporting is exhausting in the Terra Maledicta Season 2 map. While nearly all comments agreed, many said portals weren’t the only problem.

Several players have called Vanguards’ Zombies mode crap. A player said that even after the new map, the Zombies is “a waste of time and resources”.

“The new map only has the same goals. It’s a bit better because the number of Zombies has been increased, but it’s so boring and there’s no challenge.”

“Vanguard is just lame”, replied another. “There’s almost no freedom to do whatever you want like in the maps before.”

“They forgot us and lied many times, I don’t expect anything from this game anymore” despaired a player.

Players can jump into a small, round-based version of the classic Shi No Numa map. Despite this, however, it remains to be seen if Treyarch will introduce a full round-based experience during Vanguard’s lifecycle.
