11 people are missing after a fire in the Haut-Rhin

PARIS, Aug 9 (Reuters) – Eleven people are missing after a fire broke out on Wednesday morning at a private guesthouse in Wintzenheim, near Colmar in the Haut-Rhin department, the local prefecture said. One person was hospitalized in relative emergency, another was shocked and 17 people were evacuated during this fire quickly brought under control by firefighters despite the violence of the flames, added the prefecture in a press release.

The disaster, which broke out around 6:30 a.m., partially set ablaze a 500 m2 building which housed a group of adults from Nancy for the holidays, she said. (Elizabeth Pineau, written by Jean-Stéphane Brosse, edited by Blandine Hénault)
