When the first day of pre-schooling approaches, you want to give your daughter certain things. In a strong Facebook letter, mother Toni Hammer wrote down 13 advices designed to arm her 5-year-old for life. These tips should help you grow into a self-confident woman.

The mother wants her daughter not to make the same mistakes she made. Of course it is important for children to have their own experiences as well – but some inspiring wisdom can never hurt. We wished for some of these sentences, someone would have told us earlier:

  • Do not apologize if someone runs into you.
  • Do not apologize for being such a nuisance. You are not one. You are a person with thoughts and feelings that deserve respect.
  • Do not invent reasons if you do not want to go out with a guy you do not want to go out with. You do not owe anyone an explanation. A simple ‘No thanks’ must do. 
  • Do not think about what you should eat in front of other people. If you are hungry, eat and eat what you want. If you want pizza, do not buy a salad just because the others are doing it. Order the damn pizza. 
  • Do not let your hair grow long, just to make another person happy.
  • Do not wear a dress if you do not want that.
  • Do not stay at home just because nobody else has no time. Go out with yourself. Make your own experiences, for you. 
  • Do not hold back your tears. When you cry, it means that you feel something that needs to get out. It is not a weakness. It is human.
  • Do not smile because someone tells you.
  • Do not be afraid to laugh at your own jokes.
  • Do not say yes, just to be polite. Say no – because it’s your life.
  • Do not hide your opinion. Speak and speak loudly. You should be heard.
  • Do not apologize for who you are. Be brave and cheeky and beautiful.Just be yourself.
