15 € for 3 missions: the sleeve continues for fans of Overwatch 2

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the price of the pack which will allow access to the single-player missions of Overwatch 2. It will be 15 €, while we were promised a real campaign at the base.

While fans of Diablo IV are over the moon, those ofOverwatch 2 become disillusioned. A few days ago, Blizzard Entertainment announced bad news: the single-player campaign, the real raison d’être of this second opus, will never exist. Considered too ambitious, it will be replaced by small missions that will be distilled in the months and years to come. And if this constitutes a real cold shower for the players ofOverwatch 2Blizzard Entertainment has just cracked a “hold my beer” which will not soften its image.

In a press release published on June 12, the company indicates that it will be necessary to pay to play the missions in question. The outcry was however particularly important at the announcement of the abandonment of a more copious story mode, and Blizzard Entertainment could perhaps have made a small commercial gesture to redeem itself. If you want to enjoy the PvE mode ofOverwatch 2it will be necessary to acquire a pack at 15 €.

Blizzard will still charge you for their Overwatch 2 ‘solo mode’

Despite declining ambitions, Blizzard Entertainment is not afraid to mention ” the most exciting season with what he calls Invasion, due out in August. Here is the official description: In Overwatch 2: Invasion, you and your friends can take on three missions that take place in Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Gothenburg — massive maps with intricate objectives and an integrated narrative that will guide you from start to finish. It’s not that different from what was offered in the first Overwatch.

The Overwatch 2: Invasion Bundle will therefore be charged 15 € and will guarantee permanent access to PvE content (including future, at first glance). To better pass the pill, it will also contain 1,000 coins (€10 equivalent), a legendary outfit for the heroine Sojourn (€20 equivalent). The heroine will be unlocked by completing challenges for newcomers to the Overwatch universe. And if you ever have too much money, you can opt for an Ultimate pack, which adds two legendary skins (Cassidy and Kiriko), the battle pass and an additional 1,000 coins.

Naturally, the reactions to this announcement are not very positive. ” Yeah well, it’s over for me. Tired of being taken for a cash cow “, claims Arnaud in a tweet posted on June 13. Renardeau sums it up perfectly, always on social media : “ So there, they removed 90% of the content and hope that we pay for the remaining 10%. “We remind all the same thatOverwatch 2 is a free-to-play and that the PvE mode has always been announced as paid. Except that Blizzard Entertainment’s plans are no longer the same.
