An intruder entered a high school in Stockton, California on Monday, stabbing a 15-year-old student to death.
A 15-year-old student was stabbed to death at her high school on Monday. An intruder entered a Stockton, California establishment and attacked the girl. The man in his forties stabbed his victim several times. Rescuers arrived quickly and took her to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, ABC News reports.
“An intruder walked in front of our school today, stabbed one of our students multiple times,” Stockton Unified School District Superintendent John Ramirez Jr. said at a news conference. “Unfortunately, she did not survive. The attacker was arrested, arrested and taken into custody immediately. The school has also been closed to ensure the safety of the rest of our students. We immediately began working with local law enforcement and they took over the investigation,” he said.
Authorities said they have no motive for the crime at this time, adding simply that he was not related to the victim. Police said they are investigating the connection between this man and the girl. According to John Ramirez Jr., the rapid response of the relief workers would have prevented further attacks. “When the incident happened, there were personnel immediately on site,” he said.
