150 firefighters – major operation: fire in the middle of a Tyrolean chalet village

The fire brigades in Tyrol’s Tannheimer Valley in the Ausserfern region had to respond to a large-scale fire operation on Friday: a hut in a hotel village was completely on fire. 150 emergency services extinguished the fire.

At around 5 p.m. the report was received by the local emergency services: a fire had broken out in the chalet village, which is located in the municipality of Schattwald in the rear of the Tannheimer Valley. According to the police, the building in question was fully ablaze, but it was probably possible to prevent it from spreading to outbuildings. A total of around 150 firefighters from fire departments in the surrounding communities were deployed to extinguish the fire. When the flames were brought under control, the emergency services were still dealing with heavy smoke. Residents evacuated, no injuriesAccording to initial information from the police, there were no injuries, but according to media reports, several dozen residents had to be evacuated from the chalet village. It was not yet clear what the cause of the fire was. Police fire investigators are now supposed to find out.
