ran. On Tuesday, a game warden found the death of 180 trout in the Crausa stream in Courtepin in the canton of Fribourg. This was reported by the cantonal police in Friborg in a communiqué.
The police had gone out because of water pollution. The Office for Forest and Nature (WNA) was also called to the Crausa-Bach and the Schiffenensee on Tuesday morning. An investigation has been launched.
“On site, the game warden found that the ecosystem was affected,” writes the cantonal police.
According to the initial findings of the investigation, the pollution was caused by the leakage of an unknown product, it was said. A responsible person has not yet been identified. But it will be determined.
It is not the first time that Lake Schiffenen has been polluted or that trout have died in large numbers due to water pollution.
