  • Lugano equalizes the playoff quarterfinal series again against Geneva-Servette. After the 2:1 nV at home it is 2:2 after 4 games.
  • Luca Fazzini scored the decisive goal after 69 seconds of overtime.
  • In the other Tuesday game, Bern beats EHC Biel 3:2 and equalizes to 2:2.
  • On Saturday in Geneva, Lugano had to admit defeat after just over 114 minutes of play. This time the Ticino turned the tables: Luca Fazzini was successful with his shot after 69 seconds in overtime.

The puck tumbled over the line after a rebound from Geneva goalie Robert Mayer, who was playing for the first time in the playoffs, and sealed the hosts’ 2-1 victory. Worth seeing was Markus Granlund’s flip pass, which preceded the goal. Both teams are still undefeated in this series at home.

Guerra with a premiere goal in the capital game

Daniel Carr, who was almost always successful against Geneva, only just missed the 2-1 lead for the hosts in the final third. In the first third, Carr’s teammate Samuel Guerra equalized with his first goal ever for Lugano to make it 1-1. It was a special anniversary for the defender as Guerra, who came from the Ambri-Piotta youth ranks, scored only his second ever play-off goal. 8 years ago he had been successful in the Davos jersey.

The guests started the game like the fire brigade and took the lead after just over 2 minutes. Not with the first chance: Linus Omark could have scored even earlier, but was then somewhat fortunate to score via a stick hand from goalie Mikko Koskinen. However, Geneva missed the second goal for the rest of the season – also because Koskinen made a strong save again. Game 5 of the series is now on Friday in Geneva.
