The Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin is clearly the fastest in the second downhill training in Colorado. The best Swiss is Niels Hintermann.

Cyprien Sarrazin has become the secret favorite for the two World Cup downhill runs on Friday and Saturday in Beaver Creek. After second place on Tuesday, the Frenchman set the superior best time in the second training session on Wednesday. Sarrazin completed the “Birds of Prey” 0.78 seconds faster than Canadian James Crawford in second place.

SRF will broadcast the two descents from Beaver Creek live on Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Niels Hintermann, the fastest Swiss, set the third best time. The Zurich man lost 0.88 seconds to Sarrazin. “I’m very happy that we had a second training session and I was able to try something out.” said Hintermann, who only came 33rd in the first practice run. “So I can go into the race with a good feeling.”

The remaining drivers all lost over a second to the fast Frenchman. Aleksander Kilde (NOR), the fastest in training on Tuesday, came fifth (+1.20), immediately behind the Austrian Daniel Hemetsberger. Like the day before, Marco Odermatt took 11th place – directly ahead of his teammate Stefan Rogentin.
