2020 swimwear trends: that's what we wear in summer

Even though our plans for summer this year are a little different than we might have imagined, that doesn't stop us from really enjoying the sun and summer. And what do we need for a perfect summer (apart from the sun, our loved ones and ice cream)? The perfect swimwear, of course. We liked these five trends – you too?

1. Pastel colors

We already know the sweet pastel colors from spring, but now they are also conquering the beach. The delicate colors look particularly beautiful on tanned skin and just let us shine. Plus, they're the light version of the neon bikinis we've seen everywhere last year. Pistachio green, pale yellow and of course baby pink are currently very popular.

2. ruffles

We have been wearing ruffles on skirts and blouses for a long time, but this summer they also adorn bikinis and swimsuits. Whether on the straps, on the bikini panties or on the entire bikini – the ruffles make our look playful and feminine. By the way: Valances are proving to be one of the top trends according to the Stylight shopping platform, because there is an increase in clicks by 665 percent compared to the previous year.

3. Bikini tops with sleeves

Is it a top or a bikini? BOTH! Bikini tops with sleeves are very popular this summer. The practical thing is that you can wear them for bathing but also as part of a normal outfit. No more annoying moving! Clicks on these models have increased 183 percent on Stylight compared to 2019. We can understand! The only disadvantage: the bikini print will be a little larger than usual. But who says we have to wear the same bikini every day ?!

4. Laces

Sexy and well packaged: we also love bikinis and swimsuits with laces this summer. The laces can be on the cleavage, for example, but also on the sides of the pants or swimsuit. Sooo easy and so pretty!

5. 80s style

Oh yes, if you haven't noticed: the 80s are back. At least when it comes to swimwear. Panties with a super high leg cut and underwire bikinis in vintage style. Simply cool! If you want and like, you can of course not save money with patterns and colors. That gives the ultimate 80ies vibe.
