23 illegal houses – A whole “swamp” suspected of illegal buildings

The small Innviertel community of Enzenkirchen, which is located in the district of Schärding, has just 1,798 inhabitants. But when it comes to black buildings, it seems that they are big.

So big that the State Criminal Police Office is now also investigating – and that has now sent a first interim report, as prosecutor Alois Ebner confirms to “Krone”. “The report shows that there are now 23 suspected cases,” says Ebner. But he also emphasizes that the further investigations will probably take some time.Mayors in sightCurrently two former mayors (they were in office between 1992 and 2021) and a former head of department are being investigated. There is a suspicion of abuse of office, according to Ebner. The demolition notice got everything rolling . In the summer, the State Administrative Court made a tough judgment. The magnificent property in Enzenkirchen, which was partly built on grassland, has to be demolished – including the pool and garage. Moved by 5.50 meters The verdict at the time stated: “Contrary to the submission plan approved by the building authorities, the residential building was moved horizontally in a north-easterly direction by approx partly built on plot no….x of KG…E (grassland).” But not only that, in the course of the negotiations and surveys it quickly became clear that it was not just this one house that had been built without the necessary permits war. Still no final report The public prosecutor’s office in Ried therefore also switched on the state criminal investigation office in the summer. While there was initially talk of eleven illegal buildings, there are now significantly more, namely the 23 listed in the interim report. The public prosecutor’s office in Ried emphasizes that there will be a final report and that the presumption of innocence applies to everyone.
