August 31st marks the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. Her sons William and Harry will probably not grieve together.

Brothers Prince William, 40, and Prince Harry, 37, will reportedly not be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the death of their mother, Princess Diana (1961-1997). Prince Charles’ ex-wife (73) died on August 31, 1997 in a car accident in Paris. William and Harry and their families would have instead chosen to mourn separately, reports The Telegraph.

No public appearances

The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex are said to have agreed that there will be no more public appearances to mark the anniversary of Diana’s death. In 2017, on the 20th anniversary, things looked different. At that time, the two brothers visited, among other things, the garden that was built in Diana’s memory on the grounds of Kensington Palace, her residence. They also laid flowers in front of the palace.

Prince William and Prince Harry have reportedly not spoken to each other in person since a statue of their late mother was unveiled on July 1, 2021. On this day, Princess Diana would have been 60 years old. The statue is in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace

Prince Harry hopes for a day ‘full of memories’

Prince Harry recently spoke at an event about the anniversary of his mother’s death. “Next week will be the 25th anniversary of my mother’s death and she will certainly never be forgotten,” he said loudly a report by the British “Independent”. He hopes it will be a day “full of memories of her incredible work” – and full of love for how she did it.
