27 slaps from Princess Leia: Oscar Isaac still remembers his first day of filming on Star Wars 8!

Oscar Isaac recalls the “surreal” experience of being slapped numerous times by Carrie Fisher!

The famous passion of Carrie Fisher (and Princess Leia) lives on in a new bonus clip from the Blu-ray and digital version of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. If you watched the latest trilogy, you probably know that one of the highlights of the “Skywalker Saga” was the relationship between Princess General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and its star pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac).

There’s no doubt that Leia’s weakness for the arrogant Resistance pilot is because he reminds her of someone she once knew: a certain beloved Han Solo (Harrison Ford).

At some point in The Last Jedi (2017) by Rian Johnson, General Organa has had enough of Dameron’s insubordination and demotes his best pilot.

In a previous interview during an appearance on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show, Oscar Isaac had explained how difficult the scene had been to perform and that the late actress – who has finally gotten her much-deserved star in Hollywood – had to slap him 27 times in a single day!

A lot of the things I’ve been able to do [sur le tournage] was with Carrie, which was incredible… I remember the first day of shooting was a scene with her and it was always – you know, a lot of times, the first day, the filmmakers, everyone is trying to find the tone and to understand – and, I remember, it was a scene where I came to talk to her and she was very angry with me and she was slapping me and Rian kept doing it again. [la scène] again and again. It ended up being 27 takes of Carrie just bending over and each time she hit a different spot on my face.

40 TIMES AND NOT 27!

But when Entertainment Tonight recently shared the bloopers of Last Jediit was revealed that althoughOscar Isaac declared that there had been 27 takes, Carrie Fisher had finally slapped him 40 times in one day! In the interview with Stephen Colbertthe actor then congratulated the late actress.

She was by far the sharpest, funniest, most down-to-earth human being I have ever had the opportunity to work with… Yeah, it was definitely heartbreaking [en référence à la mort de Carrie Fisher en 2018].

Star Wars: The Last Jedi can be seen again on Disney+.
