27th round of the Super League – Gharbi leads SLO to victory over Lucerne – Sport

After 7 games without a win, it was that time again: Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy was allowed to leave the pitch as the winner after a Super League game. A solidarity team performance with a strong exploitation of opportunities, coupled with inefficient Lucerne players and a convincing goalie performance, was enough for a 2-1 home win over the FCL.

The defining figure for the Lausanne team was PSG loanee Ismaël Gharbi. In the 58th minute, the 19-year-old broke the spell and gave his colors a 1-0 lead with a beautiful shot. And just three minutes later, the Spaniard provided the exact assist for Ibrahim Diakité, who made it 2-0 from a few meters.

Lucerne’s usury of opportunities

Lucerne will then have asked themselves how they could be 0-2 behind in this game. The guests from central Switzerland dominated the first round on the Pontaise and could have taken the lead several times. Adrian Grbic failed spectacularly after a few seconds. Jakub Kadak’s lob after a quarter of an hour was as unsuccessful as his finish 20 minutes later. And Severin Ottiger couldn’t get past goalie Jérémy Vachoux (20th).

After the two goals conceded, the Lucerne team picked themselves up again. Jesper Löfgren’s supposed goal was disallowed due to a very slight offside position. But ex-SLO player Teddy Okou brought Lucerne back into action with his second Super League goal (73′). However, there should be too little. Once again, the exploitation of opportunities brought the Lucerne team away from important points.

SLO in relegation round – Lucerne too?

Despite the victory, Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy will clearly remain at the bottom of the table (10 points behind Lausanne-Sport and GC). And since Saturday evening it has been clear that the promoted team will definitely have to play the relegation round – but this was not a surprise.

At FC Luzern it now looks more and more like they have to orientate themselves downwards. Mario Frick’s team lost 6th place to Winterthur. The gap to the “dash” is only 3 points, but the form (only one win from the last 5 games) is not right at all.

This is how it goes

Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy will face FC Zurich away next Sunday (2:15 p.m.). Lucerne also has to play on Sunday. From 4:30 p.m. the Leuchtenstädter will welcome Servette.
