3 body scrubs for beautiful skin

Exfoliating the epidermis is an essential beauty gesture for the face as well as for the body. Here are three exfoliating recipes to make yourself to reveal silky smooth skin!

Our homemade body scrub recipe with coffee grounds

The ingredients you need:
– coffee grounds
– of the’coconut oil
– of the’grapefruit essential oil

Why use these ingredients?
Coffee grounds are an excellent natural exfoliant for the body because their slightly abrasive grains remain gentle on the skin. They therefore make it possible to rid it of dead cells without irritating it. In addition, this underestimated rest from the preparation of coffee contains antioxidants and vitamins that are good for the skin, but also caffeine known to boost blood microcirculation, and therefore help fight cellulite. It therefore has everything to invigorate and beautify the skin, and leave it soft and smooth. Small well-being bonus: its gourmet coffee scent is also energizing.
Coconut oil is rich in saturated fatty acids (such as lauric acid). It therefore reveals particularly interesting nourishing virtues to hydrate the body quickly and well in stride, and thus compensate for the small drying effects of exfoliation. Its coconut scent is ideal for a 100% gourmet treatment. Finally, in this scrub, grapefruit essential oil is a beautiful skin and anti-orange peel asset because it is both draining, astringent (it tightens the pores) and lipolytic, that is to say that ‘it increases the capacity of adipose cells to destock the fat they contain.

Good to know before starting the recipe
Coconut oil has the particularity of solidifying naturally as soon as the ambient temperature is below approximately 24 ° C. It is therefore possible that it is in solid form if it is cold, that it has the texture of a soft dough if it is hotter but not yet enough for it to liquefy, or that it is already liquid if it’s hot. If its texture remains flexible enough, it is possible to put it as is in the bowl because it will liquefy under the effect of the mixture. But if it is very hard, do not hesitate to heat it over low heat in a saucepan so that you can create your body scrub easily.

Our homemade brown sugar body scrub recipe

The ingredients you need:
– cane sugar (powder)
– of monoi
– of the’ylang-ylang essential oil

Why use these ingredients?
Brown sugar, also known as cane sugar or brown sugar, is one of the most widely used ingredients in body and face exfoliant formulas. And this is not for nothing because it is formidably effective in erasing the skin effortlessly and ridding it of all its impurities. Thanks to its grains larger than those of white sugar, it is more effective than the latter. However, it is nonetheless gentle and non-irritating to the skin. Even sensitive, fragile and reactive skin can benefit from its exfoliating properties without risking overheating. Inexpensive, it is also a smart ingredient for inexpensive home care. Monoi, on the other hand, is obtained from the maceration of fresh tiare flowers in coconut pulp oil. It is therefore an oil very rich in saturated fatty acids which deeply nourishes the epidermis, softens and softens the skin, and deposits on its surface a very useful protective moisturizing film. More than a nourishing oil, it is therefore an embellishing oil that makes us beautiful skin. It is therefore perfect to complement the benefits of a body scrub. As for the essential oil of ylang-ylang, it is purifying in addition to offering a voluptuous and soothing floral scent. It therefore helps to purify the epidermis while helping you relax.

Good to know before starting the recipe
Like coconut oil, monoi changes texture depending on the outside temperature. It too tends to liquefy as soon as the temperature approaches 25 ° C while it begins to solidify as soon as it is below. Same process as for coconut oil, do not hesitate to reheat your monoi before use. And if you don’t feel like bothering with a casserole dish, just let your bottle of monoi soak in hot water for it to regain its oily texture.

Step by step sugar body scrub recipe

  • In a bowl, pour the equivalent of three tablespoons of monoi oil.
  • Add three to four drops of ylang-ylang essential oil to flavor this nourishing base and give it purifying properties, then mix well.
  • Then place the brown sugar, which you integrate into the oil at your convenience, at the rate of two to four tablespoons of brown sugar depending on whether you want to obtain a treatment more or less rich in grains.

Advice on sensitive skin, limit the dose to two spoons to offer yourself a body scrub that is gentle on your skin. On normal to oily skin, however, do not hesitate to use the maximum dose to obtain a slightly more abrasive paste.

  • In any case, mix the sugar well in the oily base to distribute the grains correctly or, on the contrary, wrap them well in oil.

Our homemade salt body scrub recipe

The ingredients you need:
– pink Himalayan salt
– of the’sweet almond oil
– of the’chamomile essential oil

Why use these ingredients?
It is well known that salt is also a very good exfoliant for the body. Himalayan pink salt is considered one of the best because it is extremely pure. It is also rich in minerals and trace elements, and endowed with a good detoxifying power which makes it ideal for eliminating impurities from the skin throughout the body. Sweet almond oil is a nourishing and soothing vegetable oil that leaves the skin very soft and promotes its regeneration. It is therefore the dream partner of salt to protect and moisturize the skin during the exfoliation, and complete its benefits on cell regeneration. As for chamomile essential oil, it reveals softening and soothing properties, perfect for comforting the skin during exfoliation.

Step by step salt body scrub recipe

  • In a bowl, put about two tablespoons of sweet almond oil.
  • Then pour two to three drops of chamomile essential oil into the vegetable oil and mix well to distribute the essential oil in the sweet almond oil.
  • Finally, add at least a large spoon of pink Himalayan salt crystals, or adapt the amount of salt to the texture you want. The more salt you put, the less liquid your scrub will be.
  • Mix enough to distribute the salted crystals in the sweet almond oil and obtain a homogeneous texture studded with small pink crystals.

All you have to do is scrub your body with it!

Our advice for using your homemade body scrub properly

Once you’ve concocted a good homemade body scrub, you still have to use it wisely to give yourself an effective exfoliation.

  • The exfoliation should be done frequently enough to allow us to have beautiful skin. So scrub once a week to rid the skin of dead cells and impurities without waiting for them to accumulate too much. If you don’t have sensitive skin, you can even use your homemade scrub up to twice a week.
  • A badly applied scrub does not allow the skin to be exfoliated properly. It is therefore important to adopt good gestures in the shower. In order to properly peel off dead skin and purify your pores, distribute your homemade body scrub over damp skin by making small circular movements with the palms of your hands. Pay particular attention to the driest and rougher areas of skin such as the knees, elbows and heels of the feet to get rid of calluses. Do not hesitate, either, to also insist on the areas of the body prone to cellulite (thighs, buttocks, arms) to make your body exfoliant a real ally against orange peel. To exfoliate the entire body, generally allow about ten minutes. And above all, don’t forget to rinse your scrub with plenty of clean water.
  • Exfoliating your skin regularly and adopting the right gestures is good. Thinking of moisturizing it after exfoliation is better! The skin always needs a comforting care after being exfoliated. Body milk with a light texture that quickly penetrates the epidermis, nourishing cream that replenishes the skin to make it more resistant or comforting balm that envelops the skin in a protective veil when it is fragile, you are spoiled for choice!
