A new week begins and it’s already time to discover new free games on Steam. It’s always nice to start with good news. What do we know?
We now know, as with the Epic Games Store or GOG, Steam frequently offers its users free games. It’s a good opportunity to build loyalty, but above all also a good way to allow publishers and developers, regardless of their size, to showcase their creations. In this case, we are entitled to two examples, with a large publisher and a smaller game. What do we know?
Two free games on Steam
The title doesn’t particularly tempt you, but you currently have the right to play RIPOUT for free. Which is a cooperative horror shooter where players struggle to survive in abandoned, mutant-infested spaceships. You are accompanied by your trusty Pet Gun, a living weapon who aids you in your quest to find humanity’s last bastion, Sanctuary. The game is characterized by its cooperative PvE gameplay, quick missions that last approximately 10 to 20 minutes, and procedurally generated levels that ensure infinite replayability and constant suspense.
Enemies in RIPOUT are particularly unique, being genetically engineered beings capable of strengthening and reconfiguring themselves by attaching smaller mutants to their bodies, creating an unpredictable experience for the player. The game allows for a lot of customization, whether through weapon modifications or character classes, allowing players to find the perfect combination that fits their playstyle.
For everyone
The other free game on Steam is LEGO 2K Drive. An open-world racing game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. Set in the LEGO universe, the game allows players to build their own vehicles and explore Bricklandia, a large open map with multiple biomes. The game features a Story Mode where players evolve from novices to champions, with races and challenges to unlock new areas and improve their license class. Outside of Story Mode, there are options for single track races, cup series tournaments, and mini-games. One notable aspect is the ability to play cooperatively in split-screen or online with friends.
Vehicles in LEGO 2K Drive can automatically transform between on-road, off-road, and water driving modes, although driving itself requires mastery on the part of players. The Garage provides customization opportunities for vehicles, allowing players to build and modify their vehicles with varied options ranging from brick shapes to colors and sound details.
