Fortuna, the goddess of luck, still doesn’t have FC Zurich on her list. The 95th minute had just started when Servette got a last corner kick. David Douline headed in to make it 3:2 and secured the three points for his colors at the latest possible time.
First, another player was on his way to becoming the hero of this highly entertaining game: Jonathan Okita. The FCZ offensive man had found a powerful answer to the first two opening goals of the hosts, who were strong at home:
- 21st minute: Okita can go after Jérémy Frick alone after a long ball. He overcomes the Servette goalie with a remarkable lob to make it 1:1.
- 50 minutes: The German Congolese, who came to FCZ from Nijmegen this season, scored an absolutely dream goal. His long-range shot hits the crossbar to make it 2-2.
FCZ continued to power and were unlucky when Adrian Guerrero shot the crossbar (64th). A skillful flight by Aiyegun Tosin was not crowned with success either. And then there was another break: After his second yellow card, Okita had to leave the field prematurely in the 72nd minute and slowed down FCZ’s final offensive. Douline then delivered the knockout to the master. Zurich remains on 2 points even after 8 games.
Cognat in the 151st game for Servette with goal and assist
First, Timothé Cognat put his stamp on the game. Awarded before the game for 150 competitive games in the “Grenat” jersey, it took him less than 3 minutes to make it 1-0 after a wonderful combination. It was also Cognat who gave Moritz Bauer his first Super League goal just before the break. His cross pass found the full-back, who deliberately made it 2-1.
