36-year-old injured – next serious frontal accident in Styria

Second serious head-on collision in just one day in Styria: A 36-year-old collided with a 60-year-old driver in his car on the L345 near Köflach on Saturday. The younger man suffered serious injuries.

The series of accidents in Styria does not stop. After several fatal collisions with pedestrians on protective routes, head-on collisions with cars are now increasing. As reported, a 26-year-old died on Saturday during an overtaking maneuver on the accident-prone Ennstalstraße (B 320). Brought to hospital with serious injuries. On the same day, a 36-year-old was driving with his 29-year-old wife and their two children at around half past seven in the evening from the Voitsberg district on the Piberstraße towards Köflach. For unknown reasons, he suddenly steered his vehicle into the oncoming lane and collided with the car of a 60-year-old. The younger driver was seriously injured and was taken to the Graz UKH by the Red Cross after receiving first aid. His wife and daughter were uninjured, his son and the 60-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. It is not yet clear whether alcohol was involved.
