For wealthy players, Dimenco presents a gaming pc screen 3D that has the benefits of a VR headset, without the inconvenience of wearing it.

Baptized SR (for Simulated Reality) Pro Display and presented as part of CES 2022, this screen is inspired by what the Nintendo 3DS offered in its time.

An image that literally jumps out at you

To offer this 3D rendering, the SR Pro Display can count on a clever mix of lenticular lenses, image processing and eye tracking to display an image called by the brand ” Simulated Reality “. If a video speaks louder than words, here is a presentation offered by Dimenco.

The feeling of depth offered by this screen is similar on paper to VR, but, of course, without the total immersion allowed by this technology. Using a controller or a keyboard/mouse combo pales in comparison to the more interactive controllers of a VR headset.

To accompany this Dimenco screen, you will also need to equip yourself with a rather beefy PC, with, depending on the brand, at least an RTX 2080 Ti graphics card and an Intel i7 10 processor.e generation or equivalent.

A simulated reality for the wealthy

Such prerequisites already require a certain investment in themselves, but this is almost ridiculous compared to the price of this attractive screen from Dimenco. Offered only with a 32-inch panel and 8K resolution, the SR Pro Display can indeed be snapped up (hold on tight) for the colossal sum of 9,990 euros!

Note that Dimenco is not the first on this technology, since Sony, in particular, already offers a 3D screen with more or less the same advantages: the more modest Spatial Reality Display, sold at 4,000 euros, all the same.

Let’s bet that if such technology were to become widespread, we could see SR screens in the future at a much more reasonable price, and therefore with a serious gain in popularity as a result.

In any case, this is the feat of Meta Quest 2, which made it possible to democratize VR in a way… before Mark Zuckerberg’s company decided to drastically increase its price.
