Not so far from 5 GHz on 64 cores at the same time to win a record under CineBench R23 and mark the world of processor.

Active on YouTube, SkatterBencher is an experienced overclocker. He got his hands on a singular processor. Indeed, its Threadripper 5990X is not marketed by AMD, even if it is close to the 5990WX which has already been seen in China.

The main difference between this particular sample and the retail 5990WX is the former’s ability to run on AMD TRX40 motherboards. These models have very complete overclocking functions, very useful for SkatterBencher.

100,191 points on CineBench R23

Indeed, the bugger managed to increase his Threadripper 5990X from 4.4 GHz to 4.825 GHz by pushing the voltage to 1.45 V. The feat is that all the hearts of the beast have been overclocked. The 64 was therefore running at 4.825 GHz.

Inevitably, the consumption of such a monster has become gargantuan and, in his video, SkatterBencher evokes 691 Watts. In return, the interested party was able to sign a record on CineBench R23 with a tad more than 100,000 points on the test multithreaded : 100191 to be exact.

Note in passing that following this publication, AMD confirmed that the Threadripper 5990WX would not be blocked. On the contrary, the American clarified that he authorized his motherboard manufacturer partners to activate multiple CPU and memory overclocking functions.
