4 cosmetic brands hired for pride month

Each year in June, LGBTQIA + people are highlighted, to show that there is not one way to love. To support this community, which unfortunately is too often faced with discrimination, cosmetic brands are getting involved in different ways. Here are four.

Every year, June is pride month, or in French, the pride month. This is a period during which LGBTQIA + people are put forward to fight against too many discriminations they suffer but also to assert their rights. This community brings together all genders and all forms of sexuality other than women, men and heterosexuality, namely: homosexuals (lesbians or gay), bi-sexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, asexual, pansexual or even intersex.

June was not chosen at random because it commemorates the stonewall riots, in 1964 in the United States. This act is described as the first example of LGBT fight. Throughout the month, many events take place for defend the rights of this community, and in particular the gay pride. This year, because of the health crisis, that of Paris was canceled. But you can support this cause by buying make-up or skincare products brands committed to this cause. The profits are then transferred to LGBT associations.

This year, Morphe offers the Pride collection in a limited edition in which there is a set of six eye brushes, a holographic lip gloss and a fixing mist. The limited edition Enamored lipsticks by Marc jacobs Beauté

After honoring Enamoured lip lacquers in 2019, this year, Marc Jacobs Beauty decided to create five new shades of their Enamored Hydrating Lip Gloss Stick : Dancing Sheen, a white, Coming Out, a pink-purple, Wet Your Lips, a peach, Hips Don’t Lilac, a lilac, and Pink-Kiki, a pale pink. These last two shades are also limited editions which are sold only during this period, while the other three will join the permanent collection. The profits, up to € 10,000 will be donated to the association Le Refuge in France, which helps put LGBT people who are breaking up with the family.

Nyx, the LGBT ally

Proud Allies For All is the name of Nyx's special collection, but also of the event they set up for the occasion. This year, the American brand didn't want to do a monthly campaign, preferring to support the LGBT community throughout the year. While explaining that it is important to become an ally, a support for LGBTQIA + people, Nyx supports the Los Angeles LGBT Center association, paying them over $ 30,000, or approximately € 26,532.15. This announcement is accompanied by new make up, will be soon available in France. Their famous Ultimate palette has notably been repackaged. Shout Out Satin lipstick is adorned with six new shades : Strenght, an orange-red, harmony, a deep pink, Openess, a hot pink, Be You Boo, a lilac, Confident, a purple, and Strut My Stuff, a teal blue. Vivid Brights liners also count six new brilliant colors : red, orange, yellow, blue, turquoise and purple.

This year, Youth To The People has prepared an entire moisturizing routine, sold in a large black case made from 65% recycled plastic and 35% organic cotton. The Pride With kit contains three brand essentials, including superfood face wash, which cleanses, rebalances and brightens the complexion to be used morning and evening, the matte resurfacing treatment to put morning or evening, and the moisturizing and illuminating cream with berries. All the benefits of the Pride With kit will be donated to the GLSEN association. Unfortunately, this kit is not yet available in France. For the moment, the brand has decided to sell Superfood Face Wash, which has been repackaged in the colors of the rainbow, with stickers to personalize your treatment. The Hydrating Cream with Superfoods is also adorned with a new pack for the occasion.
