40 euros per month for a new electric Renault Twingo? It’s possible, but you’ll have to be quick

The government’s announcement of social leasing definitely moves the lines. After Citroën which is offering its electric ë-C3 at 59 euros per month via this system, Renault is going even further by offering its Twingo E-Tech at 40 euros per month! However, he will have to hurry, since his production will stop very soon.

It doesn’t stop! With the officialization of the conditions of social leasing from the government, the announcements are pouring in. Stellantis (the group of Citroën, Peugeot, DS, Opel, Fiat and Jeep) got the ball rolling by presenting its eight models eligible for this boost, headlined by the Citroën ë-C3 from 59 euros per month. Renault is not to be outdone and has just responded.

Quite a response, in fact, since it announces in a press release that it will offer its electric Twingo E-Tech for only 40 euros per month! The Mégane E-Tech is also affected. Let’s dig into the subject.

Maintenance and six months of charging included

Where Renault hits hard is that its offer does not stop at the “naked” Twingo. The 40 euros per month in fact includes car maintenance… and even six months of free charging, without more information on what this means in concrete terms. We have contacted the brand to find out more, we will update the article as soon as we have anything new.

It remains to be seen whether you will be eligible for this offer. As a reminder, social leasing takes the form of a three-year rental including 12,000 kilometers per year, reserved for households with a reference tax income of less than 15,400 euros.

Second limit to this offer: the Twingo E-Tech only has a few months left. The announcement appeared this very morning: the Twingo E-Tech will end its marketing in March 2024 with the Zoé, just to make room for the Renault 5 E-Tech which will arrive shortly after. You will therefore only have three months to benefit from it.

The Mégane E-Tech also benefits from it

Still, the Twingo is a small car measuring 3.61 meters in length with a small 22 kWh battery, enough to travel a maximum of 190 km on one charge according to the WLTP standard. If these characteristics are too tight for you, rest assured: the Mégane E-Tech is also eligible for leasing.

Of course, the monthly payments will be a little higher; It will therefore cost 150 euros per month to afford the electric compact, with maintenance included, but without the six months of free charging.

And if you do not meet the conditions to benefit from the government measure, don’t panic: significant price reductions are imminent. Only good news !
