The situation seems to be back to normal in Moscow, two days after Wagner’s armed rebellion. The anti-terrorist regime, set up on Saturday in the capital, was lifted and the Minister of Defense appeared on television. The Kremlin therefore seems to be doing everything to turn the page on Yevgeny Prigojine.

Two days after the aborted armed rebellion of the paramilitary group Wagner, the situation seems to have returned to calm in Russia. The anti-terrorist regime has been lifted in Moscow and the Kremlin also wants to prove that everything is back to normal. As proof, the appearance on television of Defense Minister Sergei Choigou, who was Yevgeny Prigojine’s main target and who crystallized the anger of the mercenaries. Where is the situation in Moscow on Monday?

End of filter barriers at the entrance and exit of Moscow

The police cars parked on the main axes of the capital have resumed their patrols, while the filter barriers at the entrance and exit of Moscow have been removed. This lifting of the anti-terrorist regime, which came into effect on Saturday, is certainly the last step in a return to normal after the events of this weekend and proof that the Kremlin is turning the Prigojine page. The absence of a threat to the life, health and property of the population justifies this decision for the authorities.

Another element to note: the presence of cameras alongside the Minister of Defense while he was on inspection in Ukraine. Shots show him examining maps and talking to soldiers. This appearance on the morning television news of Sergei Shoigu, taken to task, hated and insulted for months by Yevgeny Prigojine, is a way of showing the public that he retains the total confidence of the president and that the leader of Wagner has passed by profit and loss in Belarus or elsewhere.

The general prosecutor’s office also reported that the oligarch was still under investigation for armed rebellion, but that he had not been arrested.
