A parody of the board game
In this three-minute video, Olivier Faure faces Emmanuel Macron in a game of political Monopoly, nicknamed for the occasion “Macronpoly”. Each box visited by the Head of State thus corresponds to a measure that he has taken and each time, it is immediately countered by the proposals of the first secretary of the PS. For example, when Emmanuel Macron lands on the square drop in unemployment compensation, Olivier Faure responds with a revaluation of the minimum wage to €1,500.
A little later, in the box “Exemplary Republic”, the socialist cuts down cards Alexandre Benalla, Nicolas Hulot or Damien Abad. After being blocked by a 49.3 and tearing up the pension reform card, it was finally Olivier Faure’s Union of the Left and Ecologists who ended the game and finished off the president.
Emmanuel Macron then suffered a final tackle: he received an SMS from Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne notifying him of his McKinsey appointment, alluding to the controversy over the government’s excessive use of the consulting firm.
