That could have ended worse in view of the pictures from the scene of the accident: On Sunday, a car hit the racing bike of a 49-year-old on Brennerstrasse. He fell and was injured.
The local (49) was part of a bicycle training group. Shortly before 3 p.m. on the B 182 in the municipality of Schönberg, on the slightly sloping road, he overtook a car that was being driven by a 79-year-old Italian. According to the initial survey, the cyclist placed himself back in front of the car too early, so that the rear wheel of the racing bike was caught by the vehicle and the cyclist fell.
The wheel got under the car
The injured person was transferred to the Innsbruck clinic after first aid. The racing bike was run over by the car and totally damaged. The B 182 had to be completely closed in this section of the road until 3:45 p.m.
