Philips joins OLED with Ambilight for its high-end 4K TVs

To compete with LG, which reigns over the world of OLED, other manufacturers must stand out. And Philips has found a great way to do it. Combine OLED technology with another technology of which only the Dutch brand has the secret: Ambilight.

The principle of Ambilight? Extend the image behind the screen by installing LEDs all around the screen. Basically, if a red lightsaber passes over the right edge of the screen, that right edge will project red light.
