50 pedicure ideas to highlight your feet this summer

With the arrival of sunny days, you take out your little outfits but also your sandals? So now is the time to take care of your feet, and why not have a nice pedicure! It’s not just your hands that can be adorned with pretty colors thanks to a nail art in summer.

As with the manicure, the pedicure is not limited to coating your toenails with two coats of varnish. It is a moment of relaxation, which must above all please you and allow you to give free rein to your imagination, or to the reproduction of models that you have spotted on Pinterest or on Instagram. In general, your pedicure will last longer than your manicure because your feet are less exposed than your hands. They are more often sheltered in your shoes for example. It can be tempting to do a pedicure in accordance with your manicure, but you will have to remember to do the same manicure several times to keep everything together. Or, you can do a different pedicure from your manicure, or just a pedicure: it’s up to you!

Before the varnish step, take advantage of this moment to take care of your feet. For example, take a foot bath by putting lukewarm water in a basin and adding a mixture of sea salt and essential oil of your choice to delicately scent them. Lukewarm water will soften the skin, which is ideal for the exfoliation that we then advise you to perform in order to eliminate all the dead skin and reduce the horns of your feet. And if the scrub is not enough, do not hesitate to use a heel grater afterwards to get rid of it. Finally, take the time to apply a moisturizer to your feet as well.

How to apply varnish on your feet?
First and foremost, it is important to have a toe separator so that you can apply the varnish to your nails without it dripping on your other toes. You can find it very cheaply in the supermarket, but if you don’t have it on hand, you can use it instead of a paper towel. To do this, cut a small piece of absorbent paper and roll it up on itself to form a sausage. Then place it between your toes so that it is positioned a blow above, a blow below your toes. Remember to get into a comfortable position, as you will be spending several minutes lowered above your toes.

Step 1 : As with the manicure, start by applying a primer to all of your nails. It is best to start with the little toe and then end with the big toe to avoid any burrs.

2nd step : Then take the color you want to apply and coat your nails with a thin layer of colored varnish.

Step 3: Once the first coat is dry, apply a second which will be a little thicker. It is this second layer which makes it possible to erase the irregularities of the previous one and to bring a little more shine.

Step 4: if you want to make a nail art on your toenails, it’s time to equip yourself with the right tools, such as dotting tools, fine brushes or special adhesive tape for the nails that will not stick to their surface too much to avoid removing the layers of varnish already applied. If, on the contrary, you prefer to perform a simple pedicure, finish by applying a layer of top coat to keep your nail polish longer.
