Alternative search engines want to give you good results without ignoring your privacy. DuckDuckGo, Startpage & Co. have blossomed into more than equal opponents for the giant Google in recent years, but still use the index from third-party providers.
Brave Search promises to do without it and to mix search results from its own index sorted by community ranking with those from third-party providers.
Exciting: The search engine has therefore grown extremely since it was launched in June 2021: almost 5000% in just one year, which corresponds to over 411 million search queries in May 2022.
A special feature is called “Goggles”, which is currently still in the beta phase. It lets you determine the importance of the search results yourself – instead of letting the Google algorithm decide that for you. So if you prefer news from certain blogs, these will be displayed above the major news portals.
