The agricultural service provider Patrick Schwarzenauer from Langkampfen in the Tyrolean lowlands is in trouble: When he was out with his chopping machine in a corn field, there was a sudden bang and metal parts flew out of the ejection. Has a stranger deliberately deposited pieces of iron in the field?
The incident happened on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. and has already been reported by the injured party. “It ate the parts into the drum and cut all the knives out of there”, describes the Unterländer, who runs the company “S & S Agrar OG” together with a partner.
The danger at such a moment is enormous: “In the front wall of the loading wagon you can see the impact of the iron parts. Unthinkable if they fly somewhere else, ”ponders Schwarzenauer. Fortunately, there is “only” property damage, but at 40,000 to 50,000 euros this is enormous. The machine switched itself off automatically – presumably due to the built-in metal sensor – but the misery was already perfect.
“That has nothing to do with prank”
Schwarzenauer thinks a targeted action is possible. “There was something similar two years ago in Reith im Alpbachtal, as well as in the Oberland. It has nothing to do with one prank. ”However, there is speculation as to whether this is due to the tough competition among agricultural service providers. The police are currently assuming willful damage, and further investigations are ongoing.
