What are our selection criteria?

Doing a comparison of the best built-in pulsed heat ovens is no easy task. It is a long process. Our collaborator Les Numériques has carried out a comparative study on 25 different models of built-in ovens.
To carry out this comparative study, they used different criteria:

  • the time of temperature increase
  • cavity capacity
  • the different cooking modes
  • IOS and Android mobile applications
  • the effectiveness of cleaning systems (by pyrolysis or catalysis)
  • the functionality of the control panel

Choosing your oven is always a complicated step. What power ? What color ? Pyrolysis or catalysis? What capacity? Here is a list of important criteria when buying an oven:
take location measurements of your future oven: this allows you to define the capacity of the appliance. Generally, the capacity of ovens on the market is between 71 and 73 liters.
cleaning function : pyrolysis is ideal for effortless cleaning. By raising the temperature to 500 °, the pyrolysis destroys the residues present in the oven. All that remains is to pick them up using a sponge. Catalysis corresponds to cleaning the vacuum oven for 50 minutes at 200 °. When the oven is cold, remove the residue with a damp sponge.
the number of cooking modes : there are so many, enough to make you dizzy: natural convection, brewed heat, fan heat, multifunction oven, combined steamer, grill,…
the control panel: the electric display must be clear and uncluttered, easy to read.
the price : no need to throw yourself on high-end ovens overpriced. They exist for all budgets and during the sales, the offers are often more interesting.

What are the different cooking modes for?

When buying an oven, the different cooking methods are at the heart of the discussions. Natural convection, brewed heat, hot air, multifunction oven, combined steamer, grill, there are so many! What to choose and what are they for?
natural convection: this is the classic cooking method. The concept is simple: one resistance is placed at the top of the oven and a second is located at the bottom of the oven. It is ideal for baking cakes, quiches, bread dough and roasts.
hot air: a fan is located on the bottom of the oven wall. So the hot air circulates in all directions. It allows faster and more uniform cooking. It is generally used for cooking vegetables, white meats and gratin dishes.
the brewed heat : it works at the same time as the fan located at the bottom of the oven. It facilitates the internal cooking of food.
pulsed heat : it allows a more homogeneous cooking of food. It can also cook up to 3 dishes simultaneously. With it, the temperature rises quickly, so preheating is faster.
steam : this is the most trendy cooking method. The principle is simple: water is injected into the oven during cooking. Steam released preserves flavor, vitamins and minerals in food
