Iconic actor and acclaimed director, Mel Gibson, 68, recently appeared in The Continental, a series set in the John Wick universe. On the cinema side, we haven’t seen Mel Gibson on the big screen in France since Blood Father in 2016.
After this film by Jean-François Richet, the projects with the actor were all released on a platform or directly on video in France. Concerning the production, Mel Gibson has not returned behind the camera since the release of You Shall Not Kill 8 years ago.

The filmmaker has several projects in the pipeline but none of them has yet entered production. From The Wild Horde to Lethal Weapon 5 via the sequel to The Passion of the Christ, we have no news about these feature films at the moment.

The cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace. The story follows a pilot transporting a dangerous criminal to his trial.
After their collaboration in Father Stu, Mel Gibson reunited with Mark Wahlberg for this aerial thriller produced by Lionsgate, the studio behind You Shall Not Kill. However, no release date for this project, which will perhaps also end up on a platform.
On the pure acting side, we will soon find the actor in Boys of Summer. In this adventure film by David Henrie, we follow a young boy played by Mason Thames, future hero of the live action Dragons.
Mel Gibson leads the investigation
After his best friend mysteriously disappears, he begins to suspect that a supernatural entity is hunting the children of Martha’s Vineyard. He then seeks help from an aging detective played by Mel Gibson; they soon discover that they are on the trail of a witch who has recently retreated to their island.
Already shot, this project is in the post-production phase, just like the thriller Boneyard, directed by Asif Akbar. The story introduces us to Petrovik, an FBI special agent played by Gibson. Working with the Albuquerque police, he tracks down a serial killer nicknamed “The Bone Collector.” These feature films do not yet have a release date and we do not know if they will be released in theaters or directly on a platform.
