The Austrian won in Bischofshofen (AUT) ahead of the Japanese. This secures his 3rd tour victory.

  • Ryoyu Kobayashi (JPN) secured overall victory at the Four Hills Tournament thanks to second place in the last competition in Bischofshofen (AUT).
  • Andreas Wellinger, Kobayashi’s first challenger, has to settle for fifth place.
  • The day’s victory goes to local hero Stefan Kraft.
  • Of the 4 qualified Swiss, only Gregor Deschwanden managed to make it to the finals.

Nothing came of the first German tour winner since Sven Hannawald in 2002. Andreas Wellinger, who was still within striking distance of Ryoyu Kobayashi before the final competition in Bischofshofen, came 5th. and had to admit defeat by 24.5 points in the overall ranking.

Kobayashi with the triple

Kobayashi showed no nerves in the showdown and took the lead in the first round with a jump of 137 m. With his attempt at 132 m, Wellinger was already over 14 points behind.

The German Olympic champion from 2018 was no longer able to close this hole. The only downside for Kobayashi: Because Kraft snatched the victory away from him by a tiny 1.3 points, he is the first tour winner in 25 years to win the tour without winning a day.

For Kobayashi it is already the 3rd overall victory at the Four Hills Tournament after 2019 and 2022. Behind the Japanese and Wellinger, Kraft is third on the tour podium.

Only Deschwanden continues

From a Swiss perspective, the jumping in Bischofshofen offered little that was pleasing. Of the 4 qualified athletes, only Gregor Deschwanden made it to the second round.

The central Swiss man lost the direct duel against Kobayashi, but thanks to his jump of 126.5 m, he progressed as a lucky loser. Deschwanden didn’t manage the second jump as desired, which is why he only managed 24th place in the end.

Simon Ammann, Killian Peier and Remo Imhof all clearly got stuck in the first round.
