The bodies of the victims were found in a swimming pool in Préserville (Haute-Garonne). Investigators say it was most likely an accident.
A 75-year-old grandmother and her 8-month-old grandson drowned on Friday in a swimming pool in Préserville, 25 kilometers southeast of Toulouse, we learned on Saturday from a source close to the investigation.
The infant’s mother had entrusted him to his mother-in-law for the time to leave the home to give a lesson. When she returned, she looked for them everywhere, before finding their bodies in the swimming pool, under the tarp that covered it.
An investigation has been opened to find the causes of these deaths. Autopsies will be performed on Monday. Investigators say it was most likely an accident.
