The woman, identified as Shakuntala Gaikwad, was isolated at home. Her condition worsened. The family transferred her to a hospital in the central Indian state of Maharashtra on May 10. The family tried in vain to get a bed for them in the hospital. The patient had to wait in the car, passed out and did not move.
