8-Year-Old Girl Stabbed Countless Times in Troubled Circumstances

A very violent and enigmatic attack. This Tuesday, September 27, a Ukrainian refugee eight years oldwho was staying at a house near Clarecastle, County Clare, Ireland, was found seriously injured. Her body lay next to that of her 46-year-old mother, who was also unconscious.

After transporting the child to hospital, doctors discovered that the girl, who was in critical condition, presented 75 stab wounds. Fortunately, none of his vital organs were affected and the health services remained hopeful that she would recover. “We have to wait and see. At this point it’s in the hands of the doctor, but the fact that his major organs haven’t been damaged gives him a fighting chance.”a source told the Irish Mirror.

On his side, the mother, who was also in critical condition, is still hospitalized. Doctors were awaiting the results of a toxicology report in hopes of discovering the cause of his worrying condition.

Police alerted by other Ukrainian refugees

Mother and daughter were staying at a property, a former B&B, used to house Ukrainian refugees who fled their country due to war. The police and emergency services had been alerted by other residents of the house after hearing screams. These same residents were transferred to another accommodation for refugees, located in a neighboring municipality.

Investigators must now collect the testimony of each of the occupants who were present in the house to try to find out what happened. A spokesman for the Garda (the national police force of the Republic of Ireland) said that the investigation into this mysterious attack “will be long, especially because it involves a minor”. For now, the mystery remains.
