Lautern is collecting immensely important points in the relegation battle

FC Kaiserslautern is gaining a small buffer from the relegation zone in the 2nd Bundesliga: The Red Devils win dominantly against 1. FC Magdeburg, who were previously unbeaten in four games, and can perhaps make it clear that they will stay in the league on the next matchday.

1. FC Kaiserslautern has put an exclamation mark in the relegation thriller of the 2nd Bundesliga thanks to double packer Daniel Hanslik. After the clear 4:1 (2:0) against 1. FC Magdeburg, the cup finalists are again four points ahead of the relegation place. However, SV Wehen Wiesbaden can still shorten the gap in the home game against Holstein Kiel on Sunday.

Hanslik shook the Betzenberg with his goals in the 15th and 20th minutes, after the break Kenny Prince Redondo (57th) and Jan Elvedi (83rd) scored for the Lauter team’s biggest win of the season. Daniel Heber (79th) managed to make it 1:3.

With their second win in a row, coach Friedhelm Funkel’s team moved past Eintracht Braunschweig and is now in 14th place – their best placement since the end of January.

In front of 42,000 fans, the FCK showed who was in charge right from the start. Hanslik, who had just scored his first goal of the season in the win against Holstein Kiel (3-1) the previous week, scored first with his left and then with his right. After the third goal everything was clear, after FCM’s goal the Red Devils had the immediate answer.
