On the national holiday there are again several demos against the corona measures of the federal government in downtown Vienna. The organizers expect a total of around 8,000 participants. ÖAMTC traffic experts therefore expect delays in the city center in the next few hours.
Under the motto “For fundamental rights and liberties”, the first train started at around 1 p.m. via Mariahilfer Strasse, Getreidemarkt and Lothringerstrasse to Resselpark. Hundreds of people had previously gathered at Christian-Broda-Platz near the Westbahnhof from noon. At least everything went smoothly in the beginning.
In the Resselpark itself, a second train will start moving from 4 p.m. You then return to the starting point via Karlsplatz, Kärntner Straße, Ring, Kai, Schwarzenbergplatz and Lothringerstraße.
Under the motto “We say no to the politics of division”, another demonstration started at 2 pm from the Kaiserwiese in the Prater in the direction of Ballhausplatz.
