What we found totally boring as kids can sometimes get pretty cool with age. 9 examples.

1. Flea markets

When we were little, we wanted to go to the department store’s toy section with all the brightly colored, new toys. As adults, we know: The real treasures can be found under lots of old things – at the flea market.

2. Tidy apartment

How many times did mom say. Clean up your room! Once it worked, it never lasted long. Today we know: A tidy apartment helps you to find things faster and also helps to keep your head tidy.

3. Visits to the hairdresser

As children we only wanted three things: play, play, play. Today we know: Nothing beats a visit to the hairdresser. We are still the same afterwards, but nothing beats a minor or major change in type or even a little everyday wellness for the head.

4. Make a tax return

Tax declaration? Tax what? Fortunately, as children we didn’t have to worry about that. As adults, we curse the tax return, then grudgingly do it anyway – hopefully at the end of the day we will be happy about a small repayment.

5. Hangover free weekend

As teenagers and young adults, we took the alcohol thing off pretty well. Today, a late show in the cinema is enough to spend the whole Sunday completely exhausted on the couch.

6. Vacuuming

Dust pissed are loud and have to do with this household, from which we as children and teenagers have always stayed away. Today we know: With a vacuum cleaner you can cheat the apartment a little cleaner and tidier in no time at all.

7. Go for a walk

When we were little, we loved playing outside. But this boring walk! Today we know: Nothing beats an extended spring or autumn walk to let our thoughts run free. (Aside from healthy exercise.)

8. Coffee gossip

How boring it was when we had to sit at the table next to Grandma and Grandpa when our aunt chatted for hours. Today we appreciate spending time with family and friends. And all the good, long conversations for which there is often too little time.

9. Sleep

Children also need their sleep – of course! But we always felt full of energy and hated it when it was time for a nap or bed. What would we give today for a nap at noon …
