The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Releases Patch 4.03

At the end of last year, CD Project posted the update next gen for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, finally bringing its cult action role-playing game into the modern era, adding a whole host of graphical features. But the experience was not quite optimal and small updates have already been released.

This week, the Polish developer launches patch 4.03 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which fixes some technical bugs that players might encounter. here is the changelog of this update:

ON PC

  • Fixed an issue where, depending on Geralt’s proximity and viewing angle, the ray-traced shadow of vegetation could become distorted.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause black shadows to appear on the outline of objects when ray-traced highlights were repeatedly toggled on and off.
  • Fixed an issue where, on some AMD graphics cards, the DirectX 11 version of the game could crash on startup or when loading a save game.
  • Added support for Intel Xe Super Sampling, a scaling technology that uses machine learning to improve performance and image quality.
  • Fixed some lighting issues affecting screen space reflections when ray tracing global illumination was disabled.
  • Performance improvements to global illumination and ray-traced reflections.
  • Fixed an issue where purple splatters could appear on the screen when Roach walked through puddles.

ON CONSOLES

  • The cross-progress popup will now correctly display which account is currently logged in.
  • Fixed an issue on the Inventory screen that caused black stripes or shadows to appear on Geralt when Performance Mode is enabled on PlayStation 5.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the screen to briefly freeze or cause a slight stutter when autosaving on next-gen consoles.
  • Fixed the performance hit affecting next-gen consoles when Geralt used his Witcher Senses in Beauclair or Novigrad.

GRAPHICS – Changes specific to PC and next-gen consoles

  • Fixed an issue that, during certain in-game weather conditions, could cause a grid of glowing circles to appear on the floor and walls when ray tracing was enabled.
  • Cobwebs will no longer change color when players move the camera with the ray tracing option enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where some character textures appearing in cutscenes did not appear to be finalized.
  • Through Time and Space – Fixed an issue where the mist in Poison Valley was pink instead of white.

QUESTS AND GAMEPLAY – Changes specific to PC and next-gen consoles

  • Added a community created mod: Next Gen Script Fixes, by Sergeanur.

QUESTS AND GAMEPLAY – Available on all platforms

  • In the Shadow of Eternal Fire – The background music for this quest will no longer continue after the mission is completed. For players who have encountered this issue before, it may be necessary to descend into the sewers of Novigrad or Oxenfurt again to resolve it.
  • Added an option to automatically apply oil in combat.
  • Potions and decoctions aside, it is now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater. // The team agrees that it may be possible to drink liquid from a vial. Conversely, consuming pints of beer and grilled meat under water is not realistic enough.

Note: These changes are only the most notable. The update contains other minor fixes that do not appear in this list.

This should improve the gaming experience for players. You can find The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition To €36.73 on Amazon.
