Golden Raspberry 2020: "Cats" is now officially the worst film

It is not exactly a big surprise: "Cats" is now officially the worst film of the year 2019. The musical adaptation won a total of six "awards" for enticing the Golden Raspberry this year. In total, "Cats" had been nominated nine times.

In addition to being honored as the "Worst Film", Tom Hooper (47, "Les Misérables") was awarded the Vile Prize as "Worst Director". TV presenter James Corden (41) can look forward to receiving the "Worst Supporting Actor" award. His female counterpart, Rebel Wilson (40), is the "worst supporting actress".

For his performance in "Trading Paint" John Travolta (66) was awarded the "Worst Actor" award. The "worst actress" is according to jury Hilary Duff (32) for "The Haunting of Sharon Tate". "Rambo: Last Blood" was given two golden raspberries by and with Sylvester Stallone (73). For "Worst re-make, rip-off or sequel" and for the category "Ruthless disregard for human life and the common good", which was newly introduced for the 40th anniversary of the shame award.

However, it is quite surprising that the golden raspberry was even awarded. After all, this event was also one of the many that had to be announced because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the organizers came up with something and simply announced the winners in a snazzy YouTube video.
