The actor Michael Winslow is celebrating his TV comeback as a noise simulator – and impresses Heidi Klum on “America`s Got Talent”.

Many Americans who grew up in the 1980s were just flashing back to childhood on America’s Got Talent. In the US version of “Das Supertalent” Michael Winslow (62) suddenly stood on stage. In the “Police Academy” films from 1984 onwards, Winslow thrilled as Sergeant Larvell Jones, who imitated every conceivable noise, who put villains to flight with the sounds of machine guns and kung fu films.

In his role as a sound simulator, Winslow also appeared on “America’s Got Talent”. In his stand-up, the comedian combined the story of how he became the “man of 10,000 sound effects” with samples of his skills. For example, he grew up on an army air base, where he made the sounds of airplanes and other devices as a small child. Via the radio, the noise of which he skilfully imitated, he came to music, which was reflected in the beatboxing on stage. The jury around Heidi Klum (48) was enthusiastic.

Sad reason to withdraw

In the clip before his appearance, Winslow explained the reason for his withdrawal from the film business. After his wife died, he wanted to concentrate fully on raising his children.

But the actor was never completely gone. After he played in all eight “Police Academy” parts until 1994, he was also part of the short-lived TV series for the cult film series in 1997. In recent years, Winslow has been active in short appearances in films and series as well as computer games, lending them voice and sounds.

German fans also know Winslow from the two “Zärtliche Chaoten” films from the late eighties. There he played alongside Thomas Gottschalk (71) and Helmut Fischer (1926-1997).
