In Tokyo and for her first participation in the Paralympic Games, the Frenchwoman Marie Patouillet won a bronze medal in para cycling on track. Back on her career as a champion.

It is a first Paralympic medal for France and for the sportswoman. For her very first participation, Marie Patouillet has just won bronze. Born with a foot defect, she was the only woman in the tricolor group leaving for Tokyo. A general practitioner by training, the 33-year-old Frenchwoman embarked on this discipline just three years ago by running the stage of the Tour cyclotouriste.

Since then, she has chained the titles: vice-world champion in 2020 and double champion of France. For this first Paralympic medal, the sportswoman largely dominated her New Zealand rival. “This is my first Games, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am very proud of this bronze medal ”, she declared after the test at the microphone of the teams of France Televisions.
