Two hundred francs. This is how much the employees of the Utz industrial group receive if they received the first corona vaccination before September 20th.
The “Sunday newspaper»Report on the case today. “It is very important to us to achieve a high vaccination quota in the company – this protects our employees from infection and keeps production running,” says the reasoning.
“Now, before the cold autumn and winter, we want to give a boost and call on our people to deal with it,” says Carsten Diekmann, Switzerland boss of the Utz Group, to the paper. He does not want to use force. There is no compulsory vaccination. “Everyone should decide freely,” he says.
Vaccination money helps you save
But the bottom line is that he hopes that as many as possible will be vaccinated. The group produces plastic crates and other containers for the transport of goods. At eight locations worldwide. 250 employees work for the company – most of them in shifts.
The more employees are vaccinated, according to Diekmann, the lower the likelihood that large parts of a department will fall ill or have to be quarantined for a short time. That keeps things going.
If the commitment catches on, there may be a quick way out of the pandemic and the restrictions. For the entrepreneur this means: no closings, no special expenses for masks, protective devices, information material, trustees and lawyers.
Social duty
In addition, Carsten Diekmann sees the company as having an obligation to make a contribution to ending the pandemic.
The Utz Group is not alone in this commitment. As various media reported this week, employees at Swiss Casinos also receive a spades bonus of 200 francs. The company operates four casinos in Zurich, St. Gallen, Schaffhausen and Pfäffikon SZ. (ise)
