A scandal involving director James Gunn and the corona pandemic delayed the shooting of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”. Here we go.
The shooting of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” has started! Director James Gunn (55) posted on Instagram a photo showing him with a few stars from the Marvel flick, including Chris Pratt, 42, Zoe Saldana, 43 and Dave Bautista, 52.
Commenting on the picture, the filmmaker wrote: “It’s been a strange, long and sometimes challenging journey to get here, but the obstacles on the way only made that moment even happier. Back on set with my Guardians family for the first day of shooting.”
Filming should start in 2019
With the obstacles that Gunn mentions, he probably means that filming should start in 2019. But in 2018 Disney fired him after ten-year-old tweets from him appeared, in which he allegedly made fun of rape and AIDS, among other things.
In 2019 Disney brought the director back after the actors around Chris Pratt had campaigned for him. But because of the corona pandemic, the start of shooting was delayed again.
Work on the set is now expected to last until April 2022. In May 2023, the third part about the Guardians of the Galaxy will finally come to the cinemas.
