US actress Lori Loughlin (55) and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli (56), have agreed to plead guilty to the college bribery scandal, according to prosecutors. Loughlin, known from the sitcom "Full House", and Giannulli should be brought to justice in October for allegedly paying $ 500,000 to take their daughters to the University of Southern California. The couple initially denied having paid a bribe, the money is said to have been a donation.
The agreement now reached with the prosecutor's office stipulates that Loughlin will serve a two-month prison sentence, a $ 150,000 fine, and 100 hours of community service. Giannulli is scheduled to go to prison for five months, pay a fine of $ 250,000, and do 250 hours of community service.

Loughlin and Giannulli are among 50 people who were indicted in the bribery scandal last year. Law enforcement officials said wealthy parents paid large sums to bring their children to elite universities. Many of the accused have already pleaded guilty in the case, including "Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman (57). She paid $ 15,000 to secure a place for her eldest daughter. Huffman was sentenced to two weeks in prison, one year on probation, a $ 30,000 fine, and 250 hours of community service. The short prison sentence began in October 2019. The 57-year-old was released after ten days.
