Camélia Jordana and her remarks on the police: Christophe Castaner will not take legal action: Current Woman Le MAG

After two days of controversy, the Minister of the Interior finally turned on his heels. And for good reason, in the midst of a global pandemic caused by the coronavirus, the singer Camellia Jordana angered Christophe Castaner on the set ofWe're not in bed, Saturday, May 23, 2020. The 27-year-old actress broached the hot topic of police violence, saying that many French people who went to work in the morning in the suburbs were "massacre for no other reason than their skin color". Revolted by such a declaration, the minister did not fail to deny these words on his Twitter account, despite a more than fragile health: "These untrue and shameful words fuel hatred and violence. They call for unreserved condemnation", he had written the day after the broadcast.

An invitation to debate in front of millions of viewers

Despite the Minister of the Interior's response, Camélia Jordana hit the nail on Twitter on May 24: "My untrue and shameful words are trying to fuel a dialogue with our leaders but you deny it." A message that gave him an idea a few hours later: "I will not speak in the media following numerous requests in reaction to Christophe Castaner's words. I will however be honored to debate live with him on the set of his choice." However, the singer's request was unsuccessful.

Monday May 25, 2020, when he was going to the Paris police headquarters, Christophe Castaner still wanted to mention Camélia Jordana's request: "I am very attached to the public debate so I do not intend to continue these words. On the other hand, the freedom of public debate does not allow everything and anything to be said", he commented, before concluding: "What has been said is false and unjust. I wanted to denounce these comments. There is no question of letting the honor of the Republic dirty."
