After slamming the door to the Fast and Furious saga, actor Dwayne Johnson announced that there was no chance of seeing him again on the bill alongside Vin Diesel.
These two may never stop being mad at each other. Angry since the filming of the 8th installment of Fast and Furious, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson have reached a point where they only communicate through the media. A month after Vin Diesel asked him to make his comeback in the saga, whose last film will be shot at the beginning of January, The Rock, which is said to be “very surprised”, wanted to respond to his former film colleague in an interview given to CNN.
The latter began by recounting that the two protagonists saw each other in physics during the month of June: “I told him directly, and in private, that I will not be returning to the franchise. I was firm but cordial with my words. I told her that I would always support the cast and always cheer on the franchise to make it successful but that‘there was no chance for my return“, explained Dwayne Johnson. And the latter does not intend to go back on his words. Moreover, Universal Studios, which produces Fast and Furious “supports the actor because they understand the problem”.
The 9th installment of Fast and Furious will be done without The Rock
The story between Vin Diesel and The Rock therefore dates back to 2016, during the shooting of the 8th opus. Hollywood’s two most famous bald people have a different take on the attitude to be on set. “I understood that we have a fundamentally different approach to how to make a film and how to collaborate”, announced Dwayne Johnson. For his part, Vin Diesel explained that he had to be firm with his colleague, because he “would do anything to get performance” in its productions. Suffice to say that, barring a reversal of the situation, the 9th and last opus of Fast and Furious will be done without The Rock.
