Apple: The VR headset finally postponed to 2023?

The virtual reality headset from Apple which was to be officially presented in June 2022 during WWDC seems to be falling behind. This is what we know.

The information comes from the very serious Bloomberg newspaper. Apple would consider (note that the newspaper does not use the conditional) to postpone the launch of its mixed reality headset for at least a few months, according to sources familiar with the matter. Apple, however, refused to comment on the matter, as well as the statements of the journalist.

To infinity and beyond for Apple

We must therefore no longer wait for the product for 2022 but indeed for 2023. This new headset is considered to be Apple’s next big release, and its gradual arrival would sign the opening of a whole new market for the business. This is not the first delay recorded by the gear, since the apple firm had first considered being able to release it in … 2021. We suspect that the Covid did not really help.

Things are getting hot

An anonymous source, however, indicates that the problems would be technical, saying that Apple would encounter problems with the device overheating. The fault would be the presence of two processors, one of which would be very close to the M1 Pro of the latest MacBook Pro.

The arrival of the Metaverse and all the commotion that comes with it is godsend for Apple, and under these circumstances, one could almost understand the reason for a strategic postponement. For the record, the helmet would be equipped with fifteen cameras, eight of which make it possible to recreate the external environment to improve immersion.

If you’ve been waiting for Apple’s headphones, you’ll have to be very patient. This postponement should, on the other hand, make your PEL happy, which you will have to crack at the right time…
